Six Bay Road Salon & Spa Leading the Way in Beauty Business Sustainability, Recycling up to 95% of Its Beauty Waste
Six Bay Road Salon & Spa committed to reducing landfill waste and minimizing its carbon footprint
South Hamilton, MA, August, 8, 2025– Six Bay Road Salon & Spa’s efforts to reduce beauty waste are helping combat climate change, one service at a time. As a part of an ongoing partnership with Green Circle Salons, the beauty industry’s first sustainable solution dedicated to fighting beauty waste, Six Bay Road Salon & Spa is a local leader in the sustainability space and has been since 2022.
The beauty industry creates 877 lbs of waste per minute. SBRS&S is helping to change that by offsetting its scope 2 carbon emissions and recovering up to 95% of its beauty waste, including previously unrecoverable materials and hard-to-recycle items like hair clippings, foils, excess hair color, aerosol cans, and color tubes. At other beauty businesses, these waste items are sent to the landfill, which has a significant negative impact on the environment. When SBRS&S sends its beauty waste to Green Circle Salons instead, it is recycled, recovered, and repurposed to give beauty waste a new life. “I’m deeply grateful to Six Bay Road Salon & Spa and all our community of Waste Warriors! Last year alone, Green Circle Salons’ members like SBRS&S helped to:
● Keep 1,358,103 lbs of beauty waste out of landfills and waterways
● Generate 85,866 kWh of clean energy was generated from Waste to Energy. That’s enough to power 94 homes for a month or charge over 7,000,000 smartphones!
● Avoided 2,742.95 metric tons of Co2e by keeping 1,358,102 lbs of beauty waste (like hair clippings, hair color, PPE, and other single-use items) out of the landfill. That’s the same as taking 610 cars off the road for a full year.
